Pictures from the 2024 re-build of Uplift from half finished to a Featherweight (13.6kg/30lb) Sportsman equipped with an electric lifter. You can find more details in the Build Diary and watch videos on our YouTube channel.
First up was adding the mounts for the new lifter:
Next up was shortening the lifter motor output shaft so it fitted in the gearbox. Then pressing on the pinion gear and finally mounting the motor itself into the robot:
Once that was taken care of, it was time to attach the front fork mounts:
I made an extra bearing mount to support the lifter gearbox output shaft at both ends. Hopefully this will mean it lasts a bit longer under the stresses of combat:
Also made a little box to tidy up and protect the radio gear. The lid is CNC’d from HDPE and the sides are 3D printed PLA:
Nearly there!
